Steve Hawkes RIP

Sadly we must record the passing away of one of our long time members Steve Hawkes

Steve was born on 31st March 1947 and passed away on 4th June 2026 aged 79 years. He joined the club on 6th October 1987 and remained a member until his passing (almost 40 years later). A veteran of some 35 tours he joined the management committee in November 2001 serving four years before becoming Captain for the 2006 tour to Ilfracombe. He became the ‘tour champion’ on a record four occasions in 1992, 1997, 2001 and 2019. Steve was elected an Honorary Life Vice President of the club in 2007.
